Mounting a remote Cloud Drive (Mac OS X)

Hello Everyone,

I’d like to know if WD provides an application to remotely connect to your Cloud Drive (not through the browser) so I can “mount” the hard drive and remotely use my photo material stored in Adobe Lightroom. I looked in the community for an answer but didn’t found any reliable solution.

When I use it at home, the drive mounted through the local network, Lightroom see’s it, is able to connect to it and I can still export and work on archived pictures. But once away, it takes to long to download them through files.mycloud.com, import them in LR not mentioning that the settings on each picture won’t synchronize as they are saved locally… It’s possible but it wastes precious time to get there.
Not very useful for a remote photographer as I am

So I’d really like an alternative where I log in just as I do in the web-based app, and get the drive mounted as a remote server/drive or such.
Thanks for the update, and letting me know if there’s a solution to this…

Regards,
Niko

One can use the WD My Cloud Desktop app on their Mac or Windows PC to access their WD My Cloud both locally and remotely. One can also use the WD My Cloud mobile apps for iOS or Android to access their WD My Cloud locally or remotely. See the following links.

If you have not already done so it is recommended one reads the WD My Cloud User Manual to learn more about one’s WD My Cloud and the various ways to access it both locally and remotely.
