Moving files/folders from one MyCloud device to another MyCloud device

WD is (gratefully) replacing my MyCloud (which doesn’t properly back up/do auto Sharepoint backups) with a new MyCloud.

Is there a recommended way to transfer the files/folders from one to another? Can both be connected to the network and I transfer them that way?

Of course they can both be connected to the same network provided they each have a unique name. Or one can connect a USB drive to the old My Cloud, copy the files from the My Cloud to the USB drive then reverse the process on the new My Cloud. It is recommended in these subforums when copying files to a USB drive attached to a My Cloud to NOT use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder, rather use the My Cloud Desktop program, WD mobile apps, MyCloud.com web portal or issue the copy/move command via SHH.
