Music Streaming to iPad 2

Hi

I have the WD TV Live Hub and have been enjoying for some time now.  I’m considering getting an iPad (for various reasons) but would like to know if the iTunes functionality will work as it does on my PC.  So I have the iTunes server function enabled on the Live Hub and my PC picks it up as a device in iTunes so that I can play any of the media direct in iTunes on my PC.  Does anyone know if a native app on the iPad will do this as well?  I have recently bought a bluetooth speaker for my kitchen (using my phone to push media to it at the moment) and whilst I don’t quite have a solution for getting my Live Hub music to that (yet) if I can’t stream direct from the Live Hub to the iPad then this will influence the memory size model I opt for.  I’m also keen to try out the remote control app as well.  Anyone know if there is a search function on this as well via on screen keyboard???

Thanks in advance.

John

I know of none that use the iTunes server, but there are PLENTY that can stream from the DLNA server.

I brought my new Ipad (gen 3) and i found an App (WD TV Live Media from ZappoTV) which detects my WD LIVE HUB and I can see all my Pictures and Songs and Movies. I can play them on my Ipad or Iphone (But Movies I can play only MP4 Format). You can try this App and it is for free.

Thanks guys, sounds like I’m ready to make a purchase safe in the knowledge that the 16Gb should suffice my needs.

Cheers

Hello. Another great app you might want to try is 8player. It play my mp3 and avi files really well. The dev update it frequently and have been adding functionality. There is a free version to try before you buy. Well worth the $. Cheer,
