My book Essential 3TB makes my computer freeze

Hello,

I have a problem with my “My book Essential 3TB”. When I’m using it with my computer it makes my whole computer to freeze. I can’t do anything except restarting the computer by holding the “off” button until it turns off and then I can start the computer again.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Hi, the information inside the my book might be corrupted, if you don’t mind losing your files you can try using the DLG boot disk to write zeros.

if the computer is freezing at the time you connect the drive then you have a bad drive

if on the other hand the computer hangs when booting with the external drive you have a boot issue and need to change the settings
