My Book Live Duo - how to view and delete backups

I want to be able to locate my backups - those done with the included Smartware from my Win 7 machine - and see what files were backed up, then choose which backups to delete. How do I do this? I’ve navigated to the drive in Windows Explorer and cannot see any backups folder. The Smartware app backed up 240Gb of pictures last night and through the app I can choose what files to restore and the retore works fine. All I now want to do is choose what files or folders or what entire backup, to delete. The web interface merely shows that a backup was performed but tells me nothing about what was backed up. The manual is severely lacking when it comes to explain how to manage backups. Edit: no way to break my messages here into paragraphs for easier reading? Oh joy.

That is the $24,000 dollar question. I wondered the same. This device is not hooked to your computer via USB, sata or any other method where it would appear as an actual drive. It is network connected.  The public folder that can be seen in windows is shown as a network location. I don’t think there is an easy (if at all) way to view your backed up files via windows explorer. There should be a way to delete or view  backups but I haven’t found that yet via the WD Smartware. All I can see are graphical representations of space occupied by the backups.  This is a very sophisticated device yet the software, it seems, was designed to be as limiting as possible so as to not confuse an audience that this product was not designed for.

I also have yet to find a generated report by the Smartware that would let me know what I have backed up. I hope some more astute person than me reads this and fills me in.

That page of the manual on the WD site talks about Safepoints, but says nothing about deleting backup files.
