My Book Live

I have a 3 TB MBL which I use for storing media files on the home network so that I can access it from all my devices.

It was working well until a couple of weeks ago. Now I cannot access the drive on my PC so I cannot read or write files to it. I cannot view the existing files from any device.
When I tried to access it I get the message,

The remote device or resource won’t accept the connection Detected
The device or resource (MYBOOKLIVE) is not set up to accept connections on port “The File and printer sharing (SMB)”.

When I tried the mbl setup I also get a screen saying that there is a problem and I cannot configure the device, browse, copy files or map the drive and that I should contact support.
I cannot start the dashboard as it cannot find the device.

It is connected to the wireless home network and not directly to the PC.

I tried disconnecting the power and the network cable. When it restarted it was working for a while and I use the dashboard to do a quick scan without any problems but then I got the same problem again. So I do not think it is an issue with the drive having crashed.
Now it has a green flashing light showing.

I have seen that other people had the same problem but I do not see a definitive fix for it.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this as recommended by the error message. You can do so either by phone or email.
