My Cloud 2TB Public share rights issues in Windows

I have had an issue when mapping my Public to my PC.  I had no issues for months and I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 and after about three to four days, I noticed that only certain picture folders no longer allowed me to “alter” them.  I could not move, edit or delete photos there.  I would get an error stating that I did not have permission to do so.  I tried remapping with my login credentials and admin password, no joy.  I contacted MS and did remote T/S and their end response was for me to create a new profile and said my original profile was corrupted in some fashion.  It worked until I finished setting up my profile with my login info for Live.  I then decided I was done and reinstalled 7 fresh.  First attempt to map my Public share resulted in the SAME errors.  Brand new install, same error from 10.

I also did a system only restore at one point to no avail.  I see the comments about SSH and I really don’t know how to do that…

I have full access to the Publc share from the desktop app but it is slower.  I can access and modify from my Android phone and same from my wife’s Mac.  Only my PC has this error.  What could be the cause?  I am not too terribly tech savvy but this is driving me nuts.  I almost want to transer everything off and reset the drive but now I am not even sure that it would help my problem.  Any and all help is appreciated!

Also, I have it connected to my router with a static IP.  Every start up it gets the same address

the error code usually resembles this Unix User/www-data

I tried remapping with my login credentials and admin password, no joy.

Did you map to all shares as the same MyCloud user?

Did you map to a private drive before mapping to any public shares?

I always started with Public.  I used my email and password that I set.

You need your MyCloud username and password, not the email address.

And you need to access a private share first.

I updated FW to 308 last night and now everything is working as promised.

One of the lucky ones! WD pushed that 308 update through to my drive sadly the rights and permissions are still messed up for me :frowning: 4 days and nothing from support either
