Hi Group, So I decided to use the My Cloud hard drive, (WD RED 3TB) in my Mac for a while after formatting it (1 partition). Now I want to put the My Cloud back together and use it as WD intended. Obviously I can’t use dashboard to format it so I searched here and the web, found tons of info and downloads, I had no errors in terminal or Gparted (both PC and Mac) but nothing worked. After running most of the schemes posted, Gparted only shows one partition and unrecognized at that. I have the 2, 3 and 4TB Virgin image and made a bootable CD of System recovery etc. etc. I’ll provide more info upon request, hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks

Search the subforum for “unbrick”. There are a number of discussions on setting up a hard drive for use in the single bay My Cloud enclosure. In particular user Fox_Exe has a lot of info on their GoogleDrive page. One has to know the generation/version of their single bay My cloud; Gen 1 -v3.x/v4.x firmware, or Gen 2-v2.x firmware. The unbrick process is different for each unit.
