My Cloud 6T went to offline after OS 5 update

My Cloud 6T ( S/N: WX71D65JELZ1) went to offline after OS 5 firmware update on August 22, 2021. It was updated via the admin web interface. However, neither the admin web interface nor any of the shared folders could be reached after the update. What can I do to roll back the firmware update or to move data somewhere else? Any suggestions?

If you haven’t done so already, use the forum search feature, magnifying glass icon upper right to search for the many past discussions on OS5 update/upgrade issues where the device becomes inaccessible and unusable post OS5 update/upgrade. Generally WD Support will suggest you open a support case via the Support link at the top of the page and generate a log file from the My Cloud Dashboard (which of course one cannot do if they cannot access the My Cloud Dashboard) and include that log file with the support case.

Officially WD claims you cannot roll back to the OS3 firmware. However, if one uses the forum search feature they’ll see some have figured out ways to roll back to OS3 firmware. Just note that one does so at their own risk.
