Hi!
Just bought a new My Cloud EX2 Ultra without HD and a 8TB WD Red HD
(Firmware 2.41.116 I didn’t update to OS5 for now)
As I want to use DLNA I activated the DLNA media Server In the settings and copied all my media files to a new share ”Media”. Media Serving in the Share profile were activated. But the dlna functions didn’t work. The unit didn’t show up on the network. I tried with and without the share set to Public.
What to do? I have tried restart but it didn’t help.
Afterwards I tried to copy a few media files to the Public share and deactivate Media Serving in the former Media share. It works!!!
Are there any change it will work on the former Media share or do I have to copy all the media files to the Public share?? (It takes 3 days so I want to know beforehand)
Is the Media folder set up for public access in the dashboard?
Hi!
Yes I tried with and without public access activated, I don’t think it makes any change.
As it didn’t help, I upgraded to OS5 and activated the Twonky server in OS5. I like the possibility to use the Twonky configuration site for the selection of shares to be used by DLNA server.
But again the Twonky server stopped working after a few seconds. I found out, the Twonky server only stopped working if I added my video directory to the list of directories to be used by the media server.
I have looked for corrupted files and file names, but until now without success.
Are there any limitations in the Twonky server to be aware of?? (I use > 2TB)
I’ll subdivide the video directory and activate the directories step by step keeping looking for if there are a bad file somewhere.
