My Cloud Home goes offline and crashes finder on Mac

Hello,

MY CLOUD HOME has been going offline and crashing finder on my Mac constantly. I am unable to open files or even transfer them to my computer from the cloud. On other occasions the folders within the drive are empty, they are mostly illustrator and photoshop files.
I have uninstalled and re-instilled WD Discovery app to no success. My other co-workers are not having any problems.

How can I fix this?

Regards,
Daniel

What version of macOS are you running? Has it always been this way?

I am running Mojave version 10.14.16. Problems started when I moved my office computer to my home about three days ago. I have had some issues a month ago but signing off and signing back on to the drive would do it.

You cannot update to Catalina?

Hi Daniel, I’m having this same exact issue you posted back in March (Finder crashing/MyCloud disconnecting constantly on Mac) and it’s driving me crazy. Just wondering if you came up with a solution? If so, I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

Same issue when I added my new My Cloud Home to my network and had to uninstall WD Discovery- looking through other similar threads as the app doesn’t allow any connection to My Cloud Home
No issue on pc, mobile apps or macbook air - just iMac running Catalina 10.15.6

Hi, same issue with me too, MyCloud home constantly crashes Finder, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7.
Wondering if there were any solutions to these queries?
Thanks

What versions are you running?

Hi, WD Discovery 1.0.
Thanks

Hi, I’ve just checked the WD support site for the latest version, I’ll give 4.1.270 a try!
