I kicked off a backup job the other day, and it seemed like it was taking forever. I had been having problems with my router, so I purchased a new one. speedtest.net is showing me 65MB / Sec Internet speed, but the backup is still running slowly.
I’m trying to re-image my computer, and want to save my Users directory using the backup. I tried using “Cut” and"Paste" but that typically doesn’t work well because files are currently in use, etc. and it demands user interaction to keep the process going. I’ve used WD Smartware in the past, and it’s able to back up huge amounts of data without user interaction.
I kicked off a new back up job this morning, hoping to capture 80GB in the Users directory. WD Smartware has currently only flagged 24GB to back up, and has completed 9.99 GB. It says it’s still going, and I’m using my laptop for business and allowing this PC to do it’s thing. It seems like the program was able to churn through 80 GB in a matter of a few hours in the past, and it seems like it’s having huge difficulties. Any suggestions?
