My Cloud Mirror Will NOT Create Email for Sending Access to Others

I have created a test folder to email out to give access to the folder to another outside person but the process does not work. It just goes to the point where I select email and nothing happens.

It would be great if this worked but it just hangs here so I cannot use this great feature.

I would like to hear from others who got this to work
Here is what the instructions tell a user to do and I did this:

I am as of Yesterday, finally getting high speed Internet unlimited but the ISP does not allow hard IP address access(?) as the address for the My Cloud Dashboard returns a time out though the device should show, this is using Win 7. In using Win 10, a dialogue box for sending mail does popup but it wants to force me to use Outlook or give it total access to my email account or to allow an app to have charge capability to my account, can’t do that. I just want to send an email that will give the recipient the ability to access just the data in my folder that I want them to see. I am very tired as I write this so it may seem that I am incoherent. Sorry. I say to all, especially WD, I just want a selector like they use on Craigslist to popup and ask me to select a mail service, Gmail or Yahoo and then be done with the situation. I truly welcome any suggestions that offer some possibility of working. thanks

Hello,

Have you tried creating a case with WD Support about this? If not, please try that.

See if this helps

Hello ERmore and any others,

This is proving to be a bear, the video using a Mac to show how to send email on a Windows PC with a key and link to My Cloud does not work so far. I have done all the things that the video shows as needing to be done but nothing so far and the person here in SE Asia has not shown any new info to show that it does work so I am asking anyone who has it working to post a copy of it working. It is not even an option on the drop down menu that my system shows.

On the video of the Mac, this produces a mail link and I have seen it try to open an OUTLOOK mail but even with my outlook email address, I do not get any mail to start???

Help is wanted.

Trudging along with no success but do have a better clue. There is a solution that supposedly show how to “Share” content and not the “mail” thing that was in the previous statements. That new “Share” popup after the menu selection does get you to a second screen that takes in addresses to send a “Share” to. Only problem is that the email does not seem to get sent.

So I repeat the call for HELP! Is anyone getting the email of content to work?

This is a major feature of a cloud, being able to “Share” data.

Thanks
