My cloud settings (re: deletion of files)

I am currently backing up a laptop to a mycloud device.  I have multiple copies of many files on that laptop (don’t ask… related to poor file management and consolidation in the past).  When I connect and back up the laptop, I understand that it will create a copy of each of those file on the mycloud device.  

I know that when I previously used an external back up drive, it maintained a copy of all files that had ever been on my laptop rather than maintaining a copy of what the laptop looked like at any given point in time.  I’m trying to be sure that I understand how the mycloud device will handle a similar situation.  

My question is this.  As I clean up the laptop, and remove/delete those duplicate files, will they automatically be deleted from the cloud device as well?  Or will I need to delete them from the mycloud device manually at some point in time?

It depends entirely on how you’re backing up your PC.   

If you’re using SmartWare, the files you delete on the PC will still be retained in the SmartWare backup until you manually detele them.
