If you have a 1st generation WDMYCLOUD, how do you have it set up on your home network? What firmware does it have? See image of mine below.

If you can see it, have you tried a right click on your device and checked its properties?
In addition to my first reply the desktop app has not worked in a long time. The first generation WDMYCLOUD no longer works or connects to the internet. The device can be set up to work on your home network.

@dsclause Note there is a proper subforum for 1st generation (v4.x firmware) single bay/single drive My Cloud discussion. The My Cloud Home is a completely different device with a different operating system and different features.

The OS3 v4.x firmware single bay/single drive My Cloud is end of life and end of support. The various apps (My Cloud Desktop for example) one used to use with it may no longer work properly with that device and are likewise no longer supported.

If you have changed internet providers and changed the local network router the single bay/single drive OS3 My Cloud was connected to its possible you are having an IP Address problem, particularly if you previously configured the My Cloud for a static IP address. The workaround is to perform a 4 second reset, and if that doesn’t work try performing a 40 second reset:
