My Movies

Hey guys

I have recently bought the hub, and I love it.

But the covers are not showing because i have many home made dvd’s and tv series.

All the dvd’s are maanged in My Movies.

No I can’t get the hub to read the output from my movies. Thus not the covers nor the xml.

Anyone got that working??

It doesn’t CREATE movie covers or XML for homemade movies.  You have to do that yourself.

Thank you for your reply

And ofc it doesnt create covers nor xml files for homemade movies. But i am talking about the software package ‘my movies’

I have added the information into 'my movies’myself.

My Movies can export different types of output covers and XML, just the hub doesnt seem to like them…

I am also a newbie (Just using my hub from 3 days), Just trying to answer with my little knowledge; I thi9nk you need to use “contentInfo” then choose a movie name that are not in your collection for your Home video. It will create the cover art, jpg, xml files. Then using your PC, open the location and find the xml and replace with your own content (tags, jpgs etc). Or you can use XML editor to edit the same,

Though i never tried, just got it some where from the posts. Hope it works for you.

wait wait

The issue here is NOT me having trouble with homemade dvd’s, that i understand.

The question is why it is not working if i let the software package named “My Movies’” create xml files and coversheets directly on my nas / hub so the hub can see them.

The format “My Movies” xml and .jpg is apperantly not good to HUB standards??

Because MyMovies does not support the WDTV Live Hub.

Well i came to that conclusion myself unfortunately.

But is there anyone here that has it working?

I would hate to see all my work in ‘my movies’ goto waste, it is a valuable addition to Windows Media Center.

Reading on the forums, they are not planning to change the xml format to the hubs desire but want WD to change their HUBS requirements

You can generate the Cover art using My Movies, by changing the options, but you can’t add the xml data.

Your best option is to use Thumbgen instead of My Movies to generate your Cover art and metadata, since My Movies isn’t compatiable with the HUB.

i use my movies on my home server and have no issues with displayed movie covers on the live hub.

Hi Rlampky

would you please tell us how you export the data from my movies to the hub to make it work?

Seeing that it was previously stated that the My Movies appliction was not compatible??
