I was using my MyNet n900 central 2TB in Acces mode after removing my old router from my network i switched it to router mode. I was aware that i might do over my router settings but since i switched the mode the hard disc is not recognised anymore. Looks like i have to do a complete new installation including formatting the hard disc.
Is this a normal behaviour, do i need to backup my data everytime I do changes in the router options???
Is there any possibility to recover the data on the hard disc or get the hard drive recognised without formatting it?
I just recently (3 days ago) switched from access point to router mode, and my 4TB is working just fine.
That said, I did have trouble with the drive being accessible via samba and ftp when it was first connected it to this router, and the only fix was to completely redo the single GPT partition with easus partition master.
turns out switching to router mode wasn’t the reason why it didn’t recognise my hard drive.
Somehow the router has an issue recognising the hard drive in general. I have to unplug the power cable and plug it in after a while to get to power up the hard drive. So i didn’t had to format the hard drive.
@cfitz you do login on your routers web interface and at advanced settings / admin / on the left hand last point device mode you can change the device mode.
