One of my friend plugged out the ext hd without selecting the option ‘safely remove hardware’ and when i plugged in the My passport 1TB , i recieved a message saying format disk but i pressed cancel and searched online for the problem but no solution worked out.I restarted my system , this time i was able to see my files but the windows or accessing the file was very slow(my My passport 1TB had around 900 gb data) and i was not able to access some of the data and the next time when i plugged it into my laptop its not getting recognized . But when i got my computer(right click)->manage->disk management , the My passport 1TB is recognized showing it is in RAW format,but since few last hours it is showing it as online and unallocated.Please help me i need to recover my data(its around 900 gb:mansad:)
Hi adityag01, you should be able to recover most of your files with a data recovery program, using Google you can find several options.
