please help me , i cant unlock my external hard drive when i enter the correct password .
is there any solution to keep my data ?
Hello, ghamry,
Try to toggle “ON” or “OFF” the capslock key while trying to enter the password or just try to write the password on the notepad and then try to re-enter the password in the unlocker if you again face the same issue then you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.

I bought this several years ago (2013) to backup data from multiple computers. I opted to secure the drive using a password with the software that came installed on the drive. Today, I logged into the drive successfully and attempted to move a large amount of files in preparation for changing computers. The copying process stopped suddenly and an error was displayed. I removed the hard drive and attempted to log back in using the same password I have always used for the drive (and the one used earlier the same morning), however, the software rejected the password. After multiple tries, I contacted customer service. They informed me that the drive was now permanently locked and the only way to reset the password was to reformat the drive (and thereby delete everything on it). I have not erased the drive - I clicked “exit” when given the option to Erase. I don’t know that the customer service rep completely understood my issue. Is there any way to get back into the drive? I have not changed my password and have not had any issue logging into it until today.
