My WD Smartware is not making any sense

As I have written in a number of threads in the last few days, I am at my wits end with My Book Live Duo.    I may have modified 3 docs today and my backup now says 34 of 64 GB copied after this morning when it said that all but one file (outlook pst) was copied.   Also, the graphic on my Backup page says that my PC contains 4.8 GB, but I know I have more.   It also says about 27,000 files (33gb) of 40,000 files (40gb)  have been backed up.  This is among all the other problems I have reported recently on this site. 

Anyone have any ideas?   Do others in this online community also have problems with this software and device?  I paid about $500 for this device and put a lot of work into something that I thought would be pretty simple and at this point feel like I am wasting my time.

Hi, what number do you have on size under “Data for Backup” and size under “Data Backed Up”? Because that is how you compare if the first backup is complete or not.

Thanks for the response.  Right now by Backup and Retrieve tabs are grayed out.     I am not sure why.  It might be because I removed the USB cord going to an external drive and plugged the USB for that drive direcctly into my PC for a backup (given that I was not sure what was going on with my WD drive).

I will reboot the WD and let you know what happens.
