MyBook Live Duo - Very slow transfer for initial backup?

Hello, 

I am trying to backup my macbook Pro on my NAS MyBook Live Duo 3TB. As it was taking ages over wifi, I directly connected the NAS to my macbook pro in the ethernet port. My NAS is configured in Raid 1. However, it takes VERY long to do this initial backup, like around 30 min / Gb. I have about 250 Gb to backup, mainly photos. I’m using Time Machine for the backup. 

Any idea or advice? Is it normal that it takes so long? Am i missing something? Note : I have updated the NAS software to the latest version. However the green light is always blinking, not sure if it matters?

Hello, have you tried to transfer a file manually to see if you get the same transfer rate? Also check if the suggestions on the following link help.
