Mybooklive 2 TB sharing issues

Please could anyone offer help.

Newly installed 2TB mybooklive. Users and share options sorted, all working fine. All family photos, music etc into “public Folder”

Private stuff into password protected shares etc. All PC’s in my home can only access the folders/shares they have permission for.Security working fine.

Here is the big problem. My Sony internet TV can log into the WD live using Twonky and access every single file, folder, picture etc on THE WHOLE DRIVE, not just the public bit. PC’s on the network without share access cannot get in, but the TV can open up the lot!!!

This cannot be right. The reason for getting mybooklive was to be able to stream movies, pictures, music to the TV. But it should not be able to gain access to the private folders.

Help, help please.

are you logging in via the sony using twonky with the admin user?

or a use who has access to the private areas?

Thanks for that, but unfortunately, my problem is that Twonky is seeing _All _of the files, even the ones in private shares password protected. No other PC’s can access without the individual password for that share/user, but the Sony TV can see everything.

The TV is wireless and connected to the network with the network password, but should not be able to see the Files in the private shares. It can.

Basically, the setup is secure from other PC’s but not the TV.
