I’ve been attempting to shut down MyBookLiveDuo (that I purchased about 3 weeks ago from Amazon.com) for about 12 hours now using the web-based UI > Settings > Utilities shut down cmd. I’ve requested a shutdown multiple times, i.e. at least 10 times over a 12 hour period, The green LED on the front of the housing blinks occasionally and there are audible noises coming from the drives, i.e. it appears that there are disk accesses. The web-based UI continues to work OK, however the media server appears offline to WD Live TV and my other media clients. I have about 821 GB of data stored and the drives are configured as RAID 1. If this problem continues I’ll just depower it (it’s powered by a UPS), however I don’t want to do this unless there is no alternative. Any suggestions?
I have not turned off mine in a while now and will not try
this could be firmware issue or a drive failure…
What firmware do you have?
My F/W vers. is 02.31.08-067 issued 16 May 2012, which is the latest as no doubt you are aware. Drive status display in the UI indicates no problem w/either drive, i.e. both drives status is “Good.”
