MyCloud 4TB Dropping Connection During Restore

Hey guys,

Using MyCloud for Mac Time Machine backups and it seemed to work OK until, that is, I actually needed to use it!

All my saves are showing up OK and recognised by OSX and I can access them via Time Machine app on OSX but the issue is that when I am trying to restore a full backup the connection keeps dropping out after several hours. It’s so frustrating at this stage as I must have wasted the equivalent of a day and a half in full trying to resolve the matter.

So I thought I would try and copy the Time Machine folder to a local HDD and hopefully have better luck that way but woke up today to see that connection was lost at 99GB and thus it’s back to the drawing board.

All along I have had the drive connected to a switch which is connected to my PC/MAC. I decided to connect straight to the Mac and the same issue occurred.

Any ideas as to why the drive is acting this way?
