I failed to upgrade my 2 bay 12 TB EX2 Ultra to OS5 in time. May I still do it now?
There is no cutoff for upgrading to OS5. If your model supports OS5, it you can update at any time.
Upgrade My Cloud OS 3 Firmware to My Cloud OS 5
Manually Update WD My Cloud OS 3 to My Cloud OS 5
My Cloud OS 5: Firmware Update Stuck at 99% on 5.16 and Older
Note there is a specific subforum for OS5 or the OS3 EX2 Ultra discussion. This subforum typically discusses the OS3 single bay/single drive My Cloud.

Thanks for your reply. I have a 12 TB 2 disk ex2 ultra and I understand it supports OS5.
the OS/5 upgrade is well within the EX2 Ultra capability.
The “older” OS/3 is no longer secure; and is no longer being updated. It should not be exposed to the internet.
A few words of caution - - -OS/5 is not without it’s warts. It runs much better if you disable cloud services and forgo all the WD network apps. (I suspect this is not important to you; as all the OS/3 apps (which relyed on WD servers) were switched off 10 months ago).
I ran OS/5 on an EX2 ultra box for about a year. OS/5 fixed some semi-serious OS/3 annoyances. It also introduced some new ones (mostly privacy* related). As a “non-internet” NAS operating on a home network - - - it’s fine. I ultimately “downgraded” back to OS/3 using a semi-sketchy-definitely-not-WD-endorsed procedure. (and I definitely have the OS/3 box isolated from the internet)
