Hello

I am new here I am looking for a bit of advice if anyone would be so kind to give it. I am looking into buying a Western Digital My Book World Edition 1TB Home Network Storage drive and was wondering if any current users can help me out.

Basicially all I want to do is have the device attached to my router so I can have my music and video folder on the drive. I then went to be able to play and sync music with itunes which would contain songs on the WD drive, and also play video files which are stored on the WD using VLC player on my PC. I know it can stream video to xbox’s etc. but I am not too interested in that I just want to be able to connect to the drive wirlessley and access and play the files as I could a regular external USB drive.

Is this device capable of this?

Also I use Windows 7 64 bit is it compatible with this?

be careful.  No USB to Computer support, you have to transfer everything through the network.  Also, looks like it toasted my data backup to a external USB drive.
