I just purchased this 2TB external HD. I have been trying to register it online but can’t get the proper WD sit online for some reason. Any suggestions?
2. This is the first time I have had difficulty installing a piece of equipment. I have not been able to figure out what to do to properly install because nothing pops up when everything is plugged in. These are the folders that appear when I go into the HA folder in my Computer:

Does the drive show in Disk Management and does it hhave a drive letter? Did you try a different port? Try plugging directly into the wall and not a power strip. Also don’t use a hub. There should be a popup asking to install a SES driver first click yes. Then any other you install is optional.
I have a similar problem. I have one 2TB MyBook essential, and been using it for a year. It is getting full (and I wanted to move a major folder off to another device), and so I got another one just like it, and tried to install it, but the Virtual CD shows up with a drive letter, but I cannot get the data partition to show up. The previous drive works fine. When I removed the original drive, I was able to install and see the VCD and the useable partition of the new drive, but when connecting the old drive back in, it cannot see the data partition, only its VCD. Reverting back, I get both partitions of the old drive, but cannot get the data partition of the new drive, and so one and so on. I have tried plugging them into a direct USB port, and via hubs, etc. There is no difference in behavior. I am in the middle of a major data re-arrangement, and I really need the extra space. (I had 1 and 2 TB of Network storage, but the 1 TB drive failed 18 months ago, and the newer one stopped being accessible about 6 months ago, except for Windows Media access. I am trying to re-arrange what data I have before I lose any more drives). I have spent most of the weekend trying to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated. (Computer has 8GB RAM, 1 TB internal storage, Windows 7, with all latest patches, etc.)
