Buy something that supports Kodi (formerly XBMC)
which is infinitely better media software with the same functions plus lots more !

personally speaking, i replaced my Live Hub with a Raspberry Pi 3 … have had it since Feb 2016 and before that, a RPi2 for over a year, couldn’t be happier with my Pi 
I agree. I am using a MINIX NEO X8-H, running XBMC, but a warning - the ability of copying videos’ to a locally connected drive on an android device is not simple and is best avoided. You may be better off running a NAS (WD My Cloud) with your content on it and using smb from your android media server to play the video. If you do not have a NAS, using your old WDTV as a smb server i a viable option.
