Hi - I want to set up scheduled backup for pcs on to wd cloud.WD is connected to network. The problem is the pcs lose connection to the device on reboot. How do I get the pcs to autoconnect to the device everytime the user logs in
Map at least one share as a network drive. Choose to reconnect at logon. Sometimes, even doing this will not prevent Windows to lose the connection upon reboot. This might be due to the drive being asleep and taking time to come backup up, or to other issues.
can specify a network location in your backup software? ie \mycloudipaddress\backupshare this is more reliable then drive mapping
I have tried this. I have a scheduled back up to my my cloud \ipaddress\share .But the problem is unless I manually connect to the ip ,it is not automatically getting connected.
it is propably trying to get a user & password. either set the share to public or try mapping the drive with the re-connect at startup option but not actually backing up to that but it will already have the user and password
I have a wd cloud connected to a network and an ip is assigned. I need to backup 4-5 systems to this cloud. On cloud I have created users and shares.
I have installed wd smartware app on all the clients, and scheduled backups. But it doest not work. Is mapping the drives the only option.
For a particular user itself there are 3-4 shares ,so there will be so many mappings . Im trying to figure why its not working without mapping.
Could you please help me. Thanks a lot.
are you trying to backup from the mycloud shares to somthing else?
I assumed origionally you were backing up a PC to the mycloud but it dosn’t look like the case
Please provide details on what you are backing up and to what device
If it is the mycloud to a USB disk the mycloud safepoint feature is 1 option
