Network NAS drive setup with WD TV Live help please?

Hi,

All a bit new to this so sorry if I ask some bone questions…

So I have a NAS drive that supports DLNA and a WD TV Live. if I copy a film to the media folder on the NAS that has DLNA then delete the file it, the WD box think it is still on there but obviosly will not play it as it has been deleted. If I map to the share as a windows share it sees the folder and that the file has been deleted.

So my question is what is the best way of setting up my NAS drive shares and does the DLNA do some sort of scan at set times to see the files on the NAS?

The DLNA server on the NAS does, indeed, do a scan to see what files it has.

There’s usually a way to update it manually, but it differs with every server…
