Ok, looks like I am not the only one to have continual probs with the password. Can anyone tell me what the original password was…I deleted it and now I continually get the enter username and password box and absolutely nothing works…I have not been able to access my network media for months…pretty **bleep** frustrating and there seems to be no help from WD at all!! If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

Which password? AFAIK, the WD only has one “original” password, and that’s for the Web login, and that password is “admin”.

The WD password doesn’t do that. So you deleted your password on your “server”, and now the WD wants to know what it is?
If the WD is repeatedly asking for a password when you’re connecting to your system, then whatever you are providing is not correct.
I had some network logon issues but then I entered the username as serverName\userName and it seem to work for me. ServerName is the computer name where the windows share resides and userName is the user name on the server.
