New 4TB Mycloud and want it to connect to VPN

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I haven’t been able to find anything about connecting the Mycloud to my VPN (BTGuard, I’ve heard it’s not the best these days, but it’s suited me well recently). I’ve seen a few posts from people who do have it connected and want to get further, but not how they actually  managed to connect it.

I’m hoping (maybe in vain) that there’s something similar to nmcli that I can run through SSH (I tried installing network manager, but it didn’t seem to work)

So, any help would Really be appreaciated.

Cheers!

Oh, and a side note:

I’m downloading a couple of rather large torrent files direct to the mycloud, and the speed seems to fluctuate wildly (0kb one second, 1.2mb the next, then a quick decline back to zero before picking up again). Is this something that would be rectified by installing a torrent client on the mycloud, rather than having it come to my laptop to be shuttled across to storage?

Again, cheers

Hi AB1984, welcome to the Community. VPN access is not supported, but maybe some of the other users can share some advice.

I may sound naive when I ask, but if VPN is not supported why was OpenVPN pre-installed? Is it just for securing your own remote connectio to your mycloud?

Also, what information does WD have access to on your public share files?

Hi again, that option you’re referring to is not accessible from the My Cloud dashboard, SSH access is not supported. Regarding your question about the public folder, only the people that have access to your local network or people that you have given permission to do remote access, can explore the public folder.
