New MyCloud, slow transfer/stream

Hi,

I just bought a 4tb MyCloud solution, and I get terrible speeds transfering to it and streaming from it, i use FTP over LAN, and when transfering it stops transfering constantly and then resumes…

I have 2 My Books live on the same router, both work awesome…

Any ideas on what’s happening?

Or something i didnt set up correctly?

Thank you in advance.

What colour is your rear LED ?

Green on my MyCloud and green on my 2 others

Still having this problem, does anyone know something about this?

I’ve bought my cloud 3TB last month and I have same problem transferring bulk data from my old external hard drive to my cloud. I’ve tried several methods of copying data but almost same result (i.e. Less than 1 MB per second data transfer speed). The best result came when I connected my laptop and router through data cable instead of wifi. It gave me 3 to 4 MB per second.

If anyone knows better speedy way, please do share. Thanks.

I have the same issue, and this is my 3rd NAS. This product is very disappointing, to say the least.

what FW version? I would upgrade to 4.00.01-623

what have you copied to the drive so far? file types and quantities

was it slow in the very begining? or after some files added?

I’m with ethernet, on the same router as the 3 disks;

FW:v04.00.01-623

I’m transfering and trying to read from the first 10 files on the HDD

Transfer speed to the other 2 is a reliable, non stopping 20-30MB/s,

to the My Cloud one I get 1-3MB/s during 3s and then 3-10s freezes

This is how WD cloud **bleep**…

Never had a reason to complain, all my WD worked flawlessly,

Now that I have a problem, tried to contact them via the support system, and haven’t got any reply for 5 days…

No wonder they dont reply  on your question, they are still busy with mine :confounded:

Could you manage to call the indicated numbers? Here in Germany the numbers run empty, are not known -.-

Sorry for spamming, but this device brings me straight into sarcastic mood.

what are you using to do the transfers? PC mac? finder/explorer/mycloud…

PC

FTP

FileZilla to write

Android/PC

For reading Read(any app)

Is there any reason you are doing FTP on a LAN? you should get much better results using File Explorer or even the mycloud program

I have the same speed with FTP in my case, with the same freezes

The reason to use FTP is preference, and I’m glad WD kept the option.
