Just bought a WDTV Live Plus (running 1.05.04_B) to play digital media from my 2TB MyBookWorld whitle light NAS. Not sure if these are bugs, or settings I’m missing somehow, or if this is how it’s meant to work and I just had a different expectation. Anyway, any insight or advice would be much appreciated.
One annoyance I’m experiencing - once I choose my source, I basically have to drill down to see the actual folders I’m using - so my selections go Video>Media Server>MyBookWorld>Video>[Filter options, I always go by folder]> and THEN I see my main folders of Movie, TV Shows, Snapstream DVR. That second ‘video’ choice seems silly, becuase I have to choose between the MyBook World’s default video/music/photo structure. I would have liked it if these two WD products communicated well enough to know that since I chose Video to start, I wouldn’t want to look in my Photo library. I’d even skip the filtering if I could, and set it to go straight to Folder view if the option was available. But barring that, is there a way to at least eliminate a click or two in this process? Even via manual restructuring?
