New WD10EARS-00MVWB0 SATA HDD giving me BSODs in Windows

So I’ve purchased this 1TB WD10EARS-00MVWB0 Hard Drive and to start off with I had problems formatting it. On the first try it got to 12% and got stuck. On the third try it got to 17%, got stuck and then the HDD dissapeared from Windows entirely. I finally managed to get it formatted on the third try but when I boot up windows now it runs for about 20 or so minutes and then crashes giving me the Blue Screen with the message: “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP 0x0A” with the file USBPort.sys as the source.

Now I have run the diagnostic WD test on it(both extended and quick) and the HDD passed so I’m really stumped as what it could be. I’m working in Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

The serial number of the HDD is [deleted].

Did you ever get this taken care of?
