I just submitted the following request to WS as a ticket. Would appreciate any support from the community that can be given while waiting for the answer from WD.
I am running a My Cloud Home with firmware 1.13.1-102 and I am using the feature for local network access. I am connecting from a laptop running Win 10 home edition. My cloud is full with folder with pictures (photos).
While I can see all the folders from the network access, I am not able to open some photos as I get the message “It looks like you do not have access to open this file”. Accessing the file from the web interface works without any issue.

I checked the previous posts in the community and saw one “solution” is to cut and paste the folder again. But for me that is not an option due to the amount of folder I already have on this cloud.
Thanks in advance for any other options which you can share
I just tried this method for one folder and it worked. But if I have to copy and paste all folders, then I am faster to just remove everything from MCH and buy another option for my pictures
C&P from a different thread.
I’ve just managed to change the permissions by cutting a folder from the MCH using WD Discovery and then browsing with the desktop app and then pasting across the network to my windows 11 laptop. Then I cut and paste it back using my mapped local drive link. It works for me.
Bit more detail. I opened file explorer using the MCH desktop app icon which opens to Y: and then I opened a new explorer tab which is a folder on my windows 11 laptop. Finally I opened a third tab for Z: which is my local mapped drive. I cut from the Y: tab and paste into the Windows laptop folder. Then cut from the laptop folder, you may need to deselect the file/folder, and paste into the Z: tab. I refreshed the Z: tab before pasting.
