No action in WD Sync configuration

Hello, I have problem with my device. I am signed in to mycloud.com, my device is visible to app, but when I click next, the wheel is turning for some time and then stops, and de “next” button is avaible to click again. No error code, no nothing, just comes back to this position no matter how many times i click “next”. Firewall and antivirus is turned off, I`ve restarted router, computer and mycloud few times. OS is Win10. Any ideas?

Have you looked at the User Manual for your generation of My Cloud and the use of Sync?

Syncing Files and Folders After installing the WD Sync software, to sync a file or folder on your computer, use your computer’s file management utility to copy and paste or drag and drop it into the WD Sync folder. The WD Sync software automatically copies it first to the WD Sync folder on your My Cloud device and then to any other computers connected to it. After that, the WD Sync software automatically updates any changes to the file, at any location, on the other configured devices.

I already used this software, I need to install it od different computer. I was using it with different folder than wdsync, and I don’t want to change this. Why i just cannot install this software? I tried on different machine, same story…

the software is so buggy… i had to do full reset (including deleting my data), after reconfiguring sync process started, it lasted for few hours, an then error came “wd cloud is missing”, so after few tries i deleted my wdcloud from wdsync app and added aain. now i have message “wucloud is up to date” when there is only something about 2 gigabytes of data from 1.5TB… this is my last product from WD…

Are you trying to sync locally, or remotely?

If locally, there are plenty of free alternatives to WD Sync that work much more reliably…

remotely. locally i`m using freefilesync which is great, and just works…
p.s rebuilding the database also does not work.

Okay, I guess you’re stuck with WD Sync, then…

I wonder, is there a Cloud Ideas thread for ‘Please fix WD Sync’…? So many people complain about WD Sync, but I wonder if those complaints ever get pulled together…

i think that the product is abandoned, no software (wd sync) update from 2016…

You may be right… A lot of software that used to be provided seems to silently disappear, e.g.

and just recently they were giving this to the photographers (bundled with Canon cameras). what a shame.

Giving what away?

Given the problems people are reporting with the thumbnailing of Canon’s CR2 raw format, it would be ironic if it was WD software…
