No Dashboard / Network Access

Morning Guys,

Looking for some assistance I have a 3TB MyCloud, That I have setup and was working fine through a NFS for the likes of Xbmc etc.

However I ran into a problem on my Laptop last night running Xubuntu 14.04 in that it went into an endless Login cycle even though the password was correct.

After many attempts of Via ctl + alt + f3 to access a terminal and searched high and low for a .Xauthority file to no avail. In the end I gave up and just Formatted the laptop and low and behold I could log back in.

But now I cannot connect to my NAS drive via the dashboard 192.168.1.86/Ui - or connect VIA SMB / Sftp etc.

If i open a terminal I can still SSH into the drive & it’s directories, I dont believe its bricked as I still have a solid blue light as I allways have and not any different but I could be wrong.

Have you got suggestions and thanks in advance

Jamie

Hi,

This keeps happening to me a quick fix is to power down the cloud from the mains and then try logging back in.

This problem happened daily, WD SORT YOUR LIVES OUT.

@Clinty - Thank’s I will try this when I get home from work, Basically just a case of SSH into it and Halting the Nas Drive? And then removing the power cables and then waiting 30/40 seconds and then plugging back into power back on?

Anyone Else got a Idea/ Solution as this is really really frustrating me now due to the ammount of Data on the Drive :(!

Edit: So i have tried Halting It and unplugging waiting and plugging back in does not work.

Can SSH into it no problem at all as below + I also have a blue solid light on the front of the NAS aswell so im trumped

However I cannot access the Ui still or even try to connect to the network which is winding me up:

Also get this aswell when using browse network

I am experiencing the exact same issue.

I bought a My Cloud last week and set it up 2 days ago. I accessed the dashboard once. It worked fine.

Now I cannot access my dashboard (I don’t get an “incorrect password” message, it actually takes me to the dashboard but bounces back out into the login page after less than a second).

I tried it on two different computers, one with windows 7 and another one with Windows 8. Same problem.

I can access the cloud only via the WD cloud app, but I cannot manage the cloud using the dashboard.

Could it be that I changed the name of the cloud?  If so, I don’t care, really. I can change it back. Just need the dashboard to do it…

This is very frustrating and rather disappointing (it killed my excitement over having MY OWN cloud).

HELP!!!

Update:

I can no Longer SSH into this after a reset on the back however I still have a solid blue light on the front of it.

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

We have passed this along to support.

Following Clinty’s advice, I powered down the cloud AND reset my home network.

I have been accessing my dashboard since yesterday without any trouble.

Thanks for your attention and for escalating this issue!

Best,

CARLOS

Hey,

Thanks i have spoken to WD yday who advised me that I can open it up for data recovery etc and It will not Invalidate my warranty long as it has the stock settings on it.

Hopefully I can get some resolve before I go down the root of having to Data recover everything etc.

New Update: so today i managed to acquire a Sata Enclosure … so ive popped the HDD into the enclosure and plugged it into my laptop like a normal external HDD and low and behold i can access it like a normal HDD.

So now im confused as to why i can access the HDD but not use the Network any suggestions before i back this up and wipe it?
