No media present

Hi I’m getting an error message when trying to access my 4tb Sharespace from the WDTV live, its connected to the router by an Ethernet cable as is the Sharespace unit, so there is no wireless issues. The WDTV can read photo’s and music from other folders on the drive and it is accessible through the PC, but it will not see any media in the public folder can anyone help with this??

Are you accessing it via MEDIA SERVERs or NETWORK SHARES?

Hi Tony

Through the media share, it was working fine and then decided it didnt want to see any thing on the sharespace anymore through the video/network shares/wdsharespace. I get the message " THer is no media in the current folder"

hope you can help

Martyn

So it was working fine, playing your files, and then *stopped* working?  Just what did you do before it stopped working? (Hint: did you happen to try playing a MKV file that wouldn’t play?)

Hi Mike

I’ve no idea it just wouldn’t work the next time I tried it, I can’t recall the last action before that. I use it generally through the WDTV Live to play downloaded films. I can access all other data on the drives through the media server option, but not the public folder through the network share where I keep the films etc.

So have you tried accessing the files through net shares?  I’d definitely try that.
