No WD 2go compatible device found in local network

I’m trying to use WD 2go for the first time.  When I select “connect now” it scans for a little and presents me with the above message.  How might I be able to connect from my Android phone to the My Book Live.

I have remote access enabled in the MBL and have generated a mobile code.

Thanks!

Is your MBL running current firmware?

Yes.

The MBL also reports under Remote Access - Configure that it is connected and that a port forwarding connection is established.

I set up wd2go over the Internet and that works.

I’m trying to access the MBL with wd2go on a HTC EVO V 4g.  The app loads fine and runs but when I try to connect it says there are no compatible devices.  I am able to access my Wifi and browse the net with the phone.  The router is a Ubee DVW3201b and I have uPnp enabled.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

I also hit the rebuild wd2go database option on the MBL.

I also tried a manual port forward but could not get that to work.

So what happens when you try to use the code you generated?

I never get to that part.  I press Connect Now.  Then I get to the Choose Your Device screen.  There’s a blue circle that lights up next to From Your Local Network that seems to indicate that the phone is looking for something.  Then It gives me the error message that “No WD 2go compatible device found in local network.”

I accidentally did a finger slide and I found more to the screen.  There’s a part on the bottom where I can connect manually.  I tap the MBL and enter the code then it works ok.

I’m now trying to add a Dropbox device to the devices screen but that’s not working.  The app opens the default browser.  I press allow.  I even checked the Dropbox website and it has full permissions set for wd2go.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are having difficulty adding DropBox account into the WD 2go app. When you try to add DropBox, does app show any error message? Can you try login with the same userid and password using DropBox app directly? What is the memory avialable on your phone?  I am suspecting there is not enough memeory at the time while adding DropBox account. If that is the case, you can try adding DropBox again after rebooting your phone.

Thanks,

Satya

I added the separate Dropbox app and that made the Dropbox within wd2go work.  I also think it’s necessary to use the same email user id.

wdphotos wasn’t showing any photos so i uninstalled and reinstalled and then the drive began to index the public photos and I got that to work.

Hi,

I am glad it worked. Regarding your original issue “No WD 2go compatiable devices found in loacl network” - Looks like Twonky Media service is not running. Can you go to your MBL → Settings ->Media and make sure Twonky service is enabled. If it is not eanbled, enable it now and try WD 2go app, now your NAS device should show up . If it’s already enabled, probably it is stuck. So, click Rebuild button, and try accessing WD 2go.

Thanks,

Satya
