Wireless Adapter - Netgear WDNA3100 - is in the approved list though there is no mention of a specific rev per Answer ID 5688. I have tested the adapter on my Windows PC to make sure it not only works but it finds my wireless router (a Netgear WRG614v7 updated with latest firmware) and it worked fine. So the adapter itself is good.
TV Live Hub Firmware - 2.01.05 - I just updated the firmware to 2.02.19 and still no joy at the WD TV Live Hub giving me the WIRELESS option under NETWORK SETUP.
USB ports do recognize hard drives and thumb drive (Windows and Mac formatted).
However, when I put the Netgear adapter into either USB port (with and without the extension cable) there is still no WIRELESS option in the Network Setup menu.
Anyone have any ideas? Pretty frustrated right now.
*If your Wireless adapter has a revision number on the box, the product may be a newer revision than what was validated and may not work. The tested device did not have a version number listed for the hardware on the box or the device. Wireless suppliers have a history of changing the actual hardware (the electronics design and chip), but keeping the model numbers the same and adding a revision level on the box and/or the device.
So the question is, does your adptor have a revision / version number. The one that was checked did not have any revision / version number. As this adaptor has been around for some time its likely that the internal chipset may have changed to a type that the hub cannot recognise.
You could try resetting to factory defaults and unplugging for 10 minutes or some. It may work. Bear in mind that you will lose your logon's etc.
Good point Rich. I dug a little deeper on the Netgear adapter and found that it is WDNA3100v2. Hence. you are right. This specific adapter is not on the list.
