I recently purchased a WD My Passport 2TB (WDBYVG0020BBK) that came pre-formatted for Windows.
It would like to use this interchangeably between my Windows & MacOS laptops.
The drive packaging in Compatibility section says : Downloadable NTFS driver for read/write on macOS
Where can I find this driver/software for MacOS Catalina?
It is recommended to format in drive in exFAT. However, there is a limitation to it that you won’t be able to configure Time Machine backups on the exFAT formatted drive.
Anyway, I’ve been using iBoysoft NTFS for Mac, without a hiccup for ages. The build-in read-only driver seems to be not only faster at reading but lighter as well, so I only use it when I need it. There is also a preference panel for it where you can turn the driver on or off on the fly.
Here is a list of NTFS for Mac apps that support the latest macOS Sequoia. My favorite is SysGeeker NTFS for Mac as it has a very intuitive UI for writing NTFS drive on Mac.
