Old User changing to network shares. Unable to play selected file

I have 3 WD TV LIVEs.  I’ve used all of them for more than a year.  I set up a drive that has old files that have been played on all three in the past.  I set up network shares.  It sees my computer.  Sees the folders.  Sees the files.  When I try to play them I get "unable to play selected file.  Please refer to the user manual for a list of supported file formats. " 

Anyone have any ideas?  Keep in mind these are MKVs and AVIs that have all worked when directly connected to the WDTV Live for at least a year.

Have you tried reseting the WD?

Yes, I have reset the WD.  I should make it clear that the hard drive I’m using is not new.  I’ve used it with the WD TVs for some time.

I figured it out.  I rechecked and added permissions on the folders and all is well.
