Actually this is a multi-layer queery. I have two WD NAS drives as stated in the Header. They usually show up in the Finder window, but sometimes they don’t until I reboot. Also, they don’t show up when using a Utility like Handbrake where I want to point to as the “Destination” Folder. Lastly, how do I find the NAS drives IP addresses so I can open up the WD Utility if I need to do something there? Should there be an icon or utility either on my menu bar or in my “Applications” folder?
Tried doing this… keep getting a pop-up that says:
There was a problem connecting to the server “192.168.X.XX” The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the Server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
Got the same message for both servers which were in the Connect To Server Pop-up, and when I try to “Browse” to the WD MyBook or MyCloud drives the beach ball just spins forever.
I will note that the drives are appearing on the lefthand column and I can access the drives from Finder. But when I try to access the drives from Handbrake they don’t show up.
Still looking for some help on this issue. Today I had the same problem using Adobe Photoshop CS4. I could not see the two WD NAS drives when I went to open a document that I know is stored on the 2TB MyBook drive. I can go to Finder and see the drive, and force the document to open using Photoshop, but I should be able to simply open the folder and document directly from the Photoshop File/Open dialogue.
Still cannot “connect” using the suggested “Go” method above.
The drives are both showing up in Finder but if I try to “find” the drives with a program like Photoshop or Handbrake or even Image Capture… I can’t see either WD NAS drive. This is strange because it worked OK a couple months back when I installed the 2nd WD NAS drive. Is there something in the WD “toolbar” page that I should try to access and fix?
