After using our WD My Cloud EX2 for a while it has become full. Couldn’t possibly be which was confirmed after investigation that it is showing a capacity of 4TB (which has no space available) Hoever this is an 8TB product. Anyone have any clues as to why We would only have access to one of the drives within the MyCloud device?
Check your raid settigs. If you are set for raid 1 you will have 4 tb available as the drives mirror each other. Having it set that way protects against loss of data in the case of a drive failure. If you want, change the configuration to jbod and you will have 8 gb of space but will lose the redundancy.
You’re welcome. Log into your MyCloud as administrator and go to the “storage” icon at the top of the page. It will show the current raid status and give you the option to change it. Be careful, if you change the raid status it will automatically format the disks and you will lose any data stored on them . Make sure you back up any data before you change raid status.
