Password recognition problem

Mybook LIve will not recognize the correct admin or user passwords. I reset the drive to remove all passwords, then performed the self test. Message was: self-test completed having the read element of the test failed. I then performed a factory reset on the drive, and them set up shares again with new admin and user passwords. Same problem. Suggestions? Thanks

I am having a similar issue. I use the latest MAC version computer. I connect to my book live duo at start up. This works the large majority of the time. The issue is when I use iTunes (iTunes library is on my NAS). I get a pop up asking for my user name and password. It will not recognize my password. I have tried to update it on my NAS, I have tried different Users. I have rebooted. I ensure all software is updated. I have saved/deleted the password in keychain. I can get to the NAS other ways. I wonder if it is iTunes related. Any other suggestions out there?

I figured out my password problem… MBL will only accept a 16 character password. I was using more. As you are using keychain, could this be your problem too?

Thanks for the idea. My password is less than 16 Characters. I tried with and without keychain. My network connection keeps wanting to reset. I did reinstall the firmware for another problem. Maybe I need to do that again. Once again. Thanks for helping.
