Playback of iTunes trailers possible?

Hi there,

I recently got the WD TV Live Streaming Media Player. I tried to play a movie trailer in .mov format from iTunes, but it did not work. I copied the .mov file onto a USB stick, but I got the error message that the file format was not supported. Althought it says on the package that .mov is supported. What could be the problem? Are the iTunes trailers DRM protected?

It was a trailer in Full HD resolution…

As per WD site:

File Formats Not Supported:

Does not support protected premium content such as movies or music from the iTunes Store, Movielink, Amazon Unbox, and Vongo

It looks like this extend to trailers to.

It’s odd though because my Gen 1 player will play them but my new WD TV Live won’t. Thankfully it only takes seconds to convert them to a playable format using Smart Converter.
