Hi,

I have a question about WD my cloud home. When you grand plex acces to your WD device it creates a folder where it scans for content but my question is because plex has acces to your device to create a folder, does it also have access to all the other stuff on your WD device? Technically it would because you give plex permission to acces the device or I’m I wrong? How does it work?

Plex says it only scans the created folder but I just want to know if all my other stuff technically is also accessible by plex?

The version of Plex installed on the My Cloud Home will only scan the content in the Plex folder.
It will not scan content outside of the Plex folders.

I know but my question is could it scan or acces other content on my device if it want to or is this completely secured and isolated?

Is there any way for Plex or a hacker to bypass this and get full access to my device?

It’s isolated to the Plex parent and child folders.
