I have a WD Red Drive that has failed. I opened up an RMA [Deleted-Privacy], I was sent the FedEX form and I packaged it up and said it was ready. Now nothing! The package has been sitting there for nearly 2 weeks and I can’t seem to get in contact with anyone. I am getting concerned, it has been less than a year since I purchased the drive. It was setup in RAID 1 and the array is not getting backed up.
I’ve had WD drives for over seven years now personally and I have brought several hundred for my work so far with no need for support. Next time I might see what Seagate have in their range of drives.
I thought you have to take the package to FEDEX with the paperwork? Wasn’t aware FEDEX would pick it up…
Well no one from WD has told me that and from memory the nearest FedEx Depot is 4 hours from where I live
If they sent you a shipping label, it’s up to you to ship it now.
I wouldn’t expect them to walk me to the shipping center/drop off point and give me detailed instructions on how to put the package into the carrier’s hands.

Support told you within 3 days that the pickup would be there. You need to contact support. They’ll most likely have to rearrange the pickup. Just reply to your email that Fedex never arrived, and what should you do now.
I’ve tried this Bill several times, I’ve got the shop I bought it from to sort it out now. Here ends a good run. I will be looking at other brands in the future.
I’m sorry about the bad experience.
It’s a shame that WD takes the brunt of this because FedEx can’t get their stuff together. Wish I had a nickel for every package they and the USPS have mis-delivered or lost coming to my house.
