Possible to WDLTV's audio dig. output to be in Dolby Digital/AC3 instead of DTS (file format)?

Hi there,

I have my WDLIVE TV connected by digital output to an old Denon amplifier.

Unfortunately the Denon does only support Dolby Digital/AC3 but not DTS (I get not sound at all if it’s DTS).

To play it, I have to manually reencode each time I get a file with DTS audio, as the WDLTV digital audio output sends directly the digital signal to my amplifier (no sound without reencoding to Dobly Digital).

Is there a way to setup the WDLTV to Dolby Digital only, so DTS tracks are converted ?

Thanks !

Welcome to the forums.

No, the only two things the Live can do is passthrough the digital DTS or AC3, or convert each to stereo (so those are your options in the audio playback, along with a third which only outputs the digital to the optical out).

It sounds like it’s time for a new receiver (if surround sound is important to you – if not, then just turn on “stereo” in the Live menu and you’re good to go).
